“MiCAFE Helps People Age 60 and Older
Buy Food”
Could you or one of your friends use more money to help
buy the things you need? A new service in Wayne County can
help you! It is MiCAFE, called My Café, and helps people age 60 and older
get a Bridge Card.
The Bridge Card helps pay for food so seniors can use
their cash to buy things like medicine or pay for heat, lights, gas, water
or make repairs to their home. Families that include someone age 60 and
older can get $20-$140 a month to help buy groceries!
With MiCAFE signing up for a Bridge Card is as easy as
calling a MiCAFE place and setting a time to meet with a caring volunteer.
You don’t have to fill out any forms- a volunteer will take care of it all!
In just one meeting you can sign up to see if you can get a Bridge Card!
Seniors should have enough money to pay bills and to buy the things they
need! MiCAFE is here to help. Please call 313-866-1443 to learn
more!
