Services

Support Groups

Weekly support Meetings will be held to support care givers.  These meetings will serve as a means for caregivers to share information, discuss problems and solutions, obtain literature, listen to audio tapes, etc.  From time to time, guest speakers will be invited to address special care giving issues.

Transportation

If conflicts in schedules make it difficult for a caregiver to pick up a prescription or take their loved one to the doctor, the Caregivers Ministry Network is there to step in.  We will provide transportation to and from community amenities in order to facilitate support services, reduce isolation and otherwise promote independent living.  One must contact their church advocate for this service.

Information & Assistance

Caring for a person with special needs often requires the use of special services.  The Caregivers Ministry Network will assist clients in finding and working with appropriate human service providers that can meet their needs, which may include: information-giving, brokering (making contact with a particular provider on behalf of client), referrals, and follow-up to ensure services have been provided.

Respite Time

Time together as a family is important, but so is time apart. The responsibilities of ongoing 24-hour care can be stressful and unrelenting for many families of people with special needs. Respite care is often essential to sustaining the health and stability of family life. Respite services will be given to those individuals with the greatest need. Some respite care items could include: prescription medication runs, trips to the doctor, now removal, grass cutting, or simply time off from caring for your loved one.

Hotline

A hotline has been established to assist clients with questions and provide referrals.  This line will be answered by an administrative assistant during the hours of 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday t through Friday.  During the off hours, the line will be answered by an automated service which will allow the caller to leave a message.
