Policy and Procedures
Application and Hiring Policies
- All service providers will be required to complete and submit and
application before s/he will be considered for the position
- All service providers will also be required to undergo a personal
interview and be subject to a background check prior to being hired.
- Caregivers Ministry Network (CMN) is an equal opportunity agency.
CMN will not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, or religion, or
disability status.
- CMN reserves the right to make a decision on employment of service
providers based on the application.
Training
- Once a service provider is hired s/he will be required to attend a
mandatory training.
- Occasional training will be required
Skills/Abilities
- One consideration for matching service providers with caregivers will
be skills and abilities. Skills and abilities such as driving,
lifting, climbing stairs will be taken into consideration when placing
service providers.
- Service Providers are encouraged to display a caring attitude in their
work. CMN emphasizes patience, kindness and commitment as important
elements in the work of service providers.
- The nature of the work requires that service providers have the
ability to read and write .
Availability/Time Commitment
- Service providers are expected to demonstrate a high level of
commitment: In the event of emergency or illness that prevents a
service provider from covering his/her shift, the service provider must
give notice by calling both the client and the office at least 24 hours in
advance.
- Service providers are required to make up missed time on their own.
- Subsequent failure to cover shifts may result in the service provider
being dismissed from the position.
- There is a minimum availability requirement of 4 hours per day, one
day per week.
- For each 4 hour shift, service providers are permitted to take one 15
minute break.
- Service providers should be informed that the CMN supervisor may visit
their worksite unannounced without prior notification.
Financial
- In the event that a service provider assists a customer with any form
of financial transactions, s/he is required to keep track and record all
financial transactions.
- Service providers are not permitted to handle private items in the
house such as money, private papers, and other valuables. If any
theft is reported by the caregiver it may be grounds for the service
provider's dismissal from the position.
- Service providers may pick up pay checks every Thursday after 4 pm at
the CMN office.
Reporting
- Service providers will be required to submit a work order sheet every
week which will include both the signature of the service provider and the
caregiver.
- Service providers are required to document any in the physical or
mental condition of the care or primary caregiver and to determine if
additional services are needed.
- Service providers are required to record all incidents using the
incident report form.
- Service providers are mandated reporters to the CMN which requires
them to report any suspicion of a neglect of a client.
Transportation
- In order to assist customers with transportation service providers are
required to have the following: valid driver's license, a good driving
record, and ownership of a motor vehicle that is insured and registered.
- If the above is not available than the service provider will be
matched with a caregivee not need transportation services.
Emergency Responses
- In the event of an emergency service providers dial 911 when in need
of immediate assistance.
- All service providers should be certified in CPR and first aid when
trainings are offered by CMN.
